This job can almost be too much fun sometimes.
Playing make believe on behalf of others.
Transporting guests to imaginary places and times. Essentially playing dress ups with a rather large (warehouse) prop box.
This signature event, which we created for the Sydney branch of accounting firm Cor Cordis, is one of our favourites.
It had to be stylish. But it had to be themed. It was such a success, the lunch has grown up to become a permanent, twice a year fixture on the Cor Cordis event calendar, since the first time we staged it in May 2012.
Take four sporting legends on the field – guests have included Nick Farr-Jones, Andrew Johns, Jude Bolton, Wendell Sailor, Mark Bosnich and more – gather an intimate group of the city’s leading lawyers, financers and accountants in the round for lunch, and let the conversation flow.
When the idea of all guests being in the round was put to us, having a sporting pitch in the centre made perfect sense to us. A sort of corporate (rather than cinematic) version of “build it and they will come” field of dreams.
It’s become an invite no one ever wants to say no to.
Can’t wait till the next one.
